Employers often address workplace violence and harassment after an incident has happened, using an adversarial complaint process that can make the situation worse. It’s time for a different approach. To prevent violence and harassment, we must first understand the nature of violence itself. This session will explore the biological and evolutionary roots of violence and look at ways we can change the workplace environment to avoid triggering violent or harassing behaviour.
